Aluminum slug is a kind of round or oval aluminum blank punched out of cold rolling aluminum strips or extrusion sheet. It's usually made of aluminum with purity above 99.5% with grade AA1050,AA1070,AA6063,AA6061,etc.
1. aluminum slugs are punched out of aluminum coil sheets with slim less diameter of aerosol cans.
2. The aluminum slugs are impact extruded into shape by a reciprocate ram with very high speed which lead to metal flowing and forming into an one end closed cylindrical can.
3. Trimer cut the irregular edge of can mouth, usually 1" and the surplus of edge is recycled.
4. The aerosol can body is cleaned online which make the surface of body clean enough to get printed. And then the lacquer of good class sprayed inside body to protect corrosion and stain to the beverage content with metal surface. Then as first heating treatment, it will pass high temp. oven to dry the inner lacquer.
5. After heat curing the cans are coated externally with a clear or pigmented base coat which forms a good surface for the printing inks. And the cans shall pass a high temp.
oven and solidify the exterior printing.
6. The top edge of bottle is swaged as last step of forming which cost 15 sub-steps to reach a smooth month, then air with pressure is filled into bottle.
7. The finished bottle will be stacked in pallet and transport to beverage filling plants.
