Function of a baler knotters
- A straw baler knotter is responsible for tying the twine around the straw bale. It uses a series of hooks, needles, and billhooks to manipulate the twine and form the knot to secure the twine, ensuring the bale remains compact.
- It feeds the twine from the twine spool through the necessary components to prepare for knot-forming. This involves guiding the twine through tensioners and guides to ensure it is properly positioned
- Once the bale reaches the desired size, the knotter's mechanism is triggered. It uses a combination of rotary and reciprocating motions to tie the knot. The billhook swings around to catch the twine, and the knot is tightened and cut

Straw baler drive shaft and yoke for power transmission with PTO
Material: 40Cr and 42CrMo alloy steels
Function of the baler drive shaft
The drive shaft is responsible for transmitting mechanical power from the power source (usually a tractor's PTO-Power Take-Off) to the various components of the straw baler.
It ensures that the rotational energy is efficiently transferred to the baler's mechanisms, such as the pick - up reel, conveyor, and knotters, enabling them to operate in unison.
The drive shaft must be robust and well-balanced to handle the high-speed rotations and torque requirements of the baling process.
A yoke is typically used to connect the drive shaft to other parts of the baler, such as the gearbox or the input shaft of the baler's main drive.
